Nebraska +5 over Maryland

5:00 PM EST. The Terps are ranked #16th in the country. Maryland has won two in a row and six of seven. They’re a lock to make The Dance and they’re a threat to win the Big-10 conference tournament. Additionally, Maryland is coming off a 14-point win over Purdue and they have covered in seven of their past nine games. The Terps stock is soaring, however, the bigger picture is that they are just 9-6 in the Big-10 and will have three games left after this one. They could improve their conference tourney seeding a bit but does it really matter? Probably not. The Terps made their statement last game, they have a gift win next game out when they play the Gophers before a showdown with Northwestern next Sunday. Maryland isn’t likely to be fully engaged here but Nebraska will be.

The Cornhuskers have new life. We wrote about them last game when they were a 14-point dog at Rutgers before they won outright. That was no fluke, as they’re coming off back-to-back 10-point wins with Wisconsin being the other team they just beat.

Nebraska has been mostly miserable this year. They are 6-10 in the conference and just 13-14 overall, with many of those losses being of the blowout variety. The Cornhuskers' last four losses were by 19, 16, 19, and 15 points, respectively, but that was before the return of sophomore forward Blaise Keita. Dude came off the bench v Wisconsin and was a fireball of energy, ala Dennis Rodman. His teammates love him and the opposition hates him. He inspires. Versus Wisconsin, Keita had 11 rebounds, multiple hustle plays, two steals, and he was plus-20 when he was on the floor - all in 23 minutes of work. He mostly sat last game to rest his sore ankle but Nebraska at no point needed his energy or inspiration. They went gate to wire v Rutgers and they have a swag about them again for the first time in a long time. As the most underrated team in the BIG, we’ll roll the dice with Nebraska once again.
