11:00 PM EST. The Dons have built a reputation in the market as a top-level mid-major, but this looks like a good spot to step in and fade them after a pair of big games. San Francisco last took the floor a week ago when they knocked off Loyola Marymount on the road in Los Angeles. That game was an emotional win, as not only did the Dons have to overcome a double digit deficit, but it was also on the heels of the Dons’ nail-biting loss against Gonzaga the game prior. After that huge weekend to start the year, San Francisco has to head to the sleepy Pacific Northwest for a one night stop over to play Portland.

The Pilots do not get many shots to host a nationally televised game, but tonight is one of those nights, as this one will be broadcast on ESPN U. Hey, it’s not the main network or even “The Deuce,” but it’s still going to be a really big deal. We kid, of course, but if would could be serious for a minute, this one lines up perfectly for the Pilots, as they catch the Dons in the middle of a tasty sandwich spot with their cross-bay rivals, the Gaels of St. Marys on deck, and San Francisco coming off that 77-75 loss to the Zags. For the Dons’ this one and done roadie to Portland is nothing more than an inconvenience. The big game is on Saturday night back in The Bay Area. Pilots outright is the call.
