7:30 PM ET. Recency bias is at play here. The Grizzlies come into this contest in excellent form, winning eight of their last ten games and going 8-2 against the spread during that span. Their ATS margin of +7.3 is the best in the league. Memphis’ most recent feat: a 144-93 drubbing of Golden State as a two-point favorite. Despite this, they’re not trusted to lay a basket against Atlanta.

Let that sink in. Memphis, with its stellar record, isn’t laying points to a team that just lost to San Antonio. Atlanta has lost favor with the market since their upset of the Knicks in New York, followed by their NBA Cup semifinal exit against Milwaukee. Priced as modest underdogs, Atlanta’s odds against Memphis suggest skepticism about the Grizzlies maintaining their torrid pace. Memphis’ form makes them appear like an early Christmas gift, but we see this as a red flag. We’ll side with the Hawks.
