Washington +7 over Denver

8:10 PM EST. We are attacking this game on two fronts, as we backed the Wizards in Orlando last night, where they lost 122-112 as a 1½-point underdog at close. When we posted that game, the Wizards were a coin flip, which suggests the efficient market feasted on fading Washington last night. It was the Wizards third loss in a row, but aside from that stinker in Orlando, they lost to the Kings and Cavaliers, two really good teams that are both in the top half of their respective conferences. If we go back four losses further, two of them came versus the Hawks, while the other two losses were to the 76ers and Bucks, two of the best teams in the East.

As mentioned, this is a two-front attack, so the second strategy we are going to apply here is a situational play where we find the Nuggets coming off a hard-fought 108-102 win in Brooklyn on Sunday as a 3-point favorite. This game tonight in D.C. marks the end of the Nuggets' five-game Eastern Conference road trip that saw stops in Detroit and Toronto, Manhattan, and Brooklyn. After tonight, the Nuggets fly home for a weekend set with both the red-hot Sixers and the Bucks. There is a strong possibility the Nuggets could get caught looking ahead to both the plane ride home and those two high-profile games in the Mile High City on deck. Moreover, the first place Nuggets have already clinched the Northwest Division on tghis trip, as they sit a full 12 games up on the Thunder. Denver's work is done and now they'll play a rather meaningless game after being idle for three full days. Wiz have a great shot at catching the Nuggets sleeping.
