Memphis -8½ over Indiana

7:10 PM EST. The Pacers are covering at a high clip, having cashed tickets in seven of their last nine games. Those two contests that Indiana failed to return a profit to their backers came by just 1-point (Knicks) and a half-point (Hornets), respectively. Last time out, the Pacers won outright over the Hawks as a 3½-point pooch. That game was just last night. This will be Indy’s third game in four nights, and the tail end of back-to-backs. This significant pile of points looks like low hanging fruit, but we’re not going to be tempted by them. The Pacers just do not match up well with quality competition, racking up just a 5-13 mark against top-10 teams. Moreover, this is a poor situational spot to catch one of the best teams this league has to offer.

We backed the Grizzlies in their back-to-back home games with San Antonio earlier this week (Monday and Wednesday), and while they won, the Grizz did not cover against the 13-30 Spurs. Not a good look. Those were the second and third straight games Memphis failed to hit pay dirt. Spurs coach Greg Popovich was quoted as saying, “You have a hell of a team, enjoy it,” as he lined up with the Grizz. We couldn't agree more, Coach, as the Grizzlies are truly elite and undervalued based on current results against the number. Tonight, we get to “stick with it” in a favorable situation and back Memphis at a bargain basement price.
