L.A. Clippers +170 over Minnesota

9:10 PM EST. The Clippers have lost four games in a row, and they are coming off a 31-point loss last night in Denver (122-91). It was the Clip Joints' biggest defeat of the year and the third straight game they failed to hit paydirt. With recent results having more influence than any others, the Clippers stock is trending downward, however, if there was a benefit to getting waffled last night in the Mile High City, it’s that it was practically a “rest” night for the starting five, as they all were done before seeing 19 minutes. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George both took the second half of that game off, presumably to rest up for this game tonight.

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves have won two straight games with those victories coming over Portland and Denver. Having just played the Nuggets on Monday night and winning that game by double digits (124-111) as a 4½-point pooch, the market has a “like opponent” to compare recent results with the Clippers. Oh, by the way, the T-Wolves are spotting a price in the same range tonight as they were taking back against Denver just four days ago. That’s a hell of a swing with just a win over the Trail Blazers in between. Moreover, once you know what really happened to the Clippers in Denver, you know those games are not comparable and have nothing to do with one another. Regardless, they are going to have an influence on an unsuspecting market.

When it comes to value, there is a bunch to be had by taking back these inflated points, but when you consider the T-Wolves pitiful record against top 16 teams (7-13) we see even greater value in backing the Clippers to win this game outright. At their worst, the Clippers are in the top half of the teams in this league and when they are at their best, they are borderline elite. Wrong side favored—Clip Joint outright is the call.
