L.A. Clippers +106 over Indiana

4:10 PM EST. A breakdown of X’s and O’s will not be necessary here, as the injury chasers once again smell blood in the water and are coming after the wounded Clippers. The Clip Joint is without both of their superstars again this afternoon. Kawhi Leonard, who returned on November 17th, is now out with a sprained ankle. Paul George will miss his fourth straight game with a strained hamstring tendon. While the Clippers might look to be undermanned, they run deeper than most teams in this league. Those reserves showed what they had in a hard fought 114-104 loss to Denver, as three players including John Wall were in the double digits. Head coach Tyronn Lue praised his team and his staff saying there is, “leadership in the locker room, and our coaching staff has great leaders as well."

Meanwhile, the Pacers might be the hottest team on the hardwood at the moment after winning eight of their last 10 games. However, a closer look shows that Indy has been feasting on cupcakes, knocking off the likes of Orlando (twice), Houston and Charlotte along the way. By comparison, the Clippers have played some of the best in Denver, Golden State and Utah. L.A. actually beat the red hot Jazz last Monday night. For some perspective, the Clip Joint opened at the same price today against Indy as it did against Utah. The efficient market pushed L.A. to the underdog roll that night, too.

While the Clippers may be beaten up, it’s worth noting that the Pacers were supposed to be dregs, but they are outkicking their coverage this season. That regression may already be showing, as the Pacers are just the 22nd-ranked squad in defensive efficiency over their last three games. They are 16th on the season in that department, so Indy may already be coming back down to earth. Despite being depleted, the Clippers are 4th in defensive efficiency both in their last three games and overall this season. It doesn’t matter who suits up for the Clippers, they play hard and they play the game the right way. Most importantly, they cannot be a home dog to the Pacers. It's insulting and motivating.

Our Pick
