Cleveland -9½ over Charlotte

7:40 PM EST. The Hornets have little to do with this play, but as a team that can’t get out of its own way, they will serve us well, as they are a toothless invader that has gone 2-2 against the spread in their last four games. Charlotte was a 10½-point dog and then an 8½-point dog in Miami in games on November 10th and 12th. The Hornets would go 0-2 straight up and 1-1 Against the Spread (ATS) and they would follow that with a win at Orlando and a loss at Indiana. Charlotte lost 125-113 to the Pacers on Wednesday night, and now they take a big step up in competition here against an elite team that is undervalued.

The Cavaliers were a squad that was flying under the radar to start the season, but after an 8-1 run straight up and against the spread, Cleveland was very much on the market’s radar. However, the Cavs have not fared well since going on that incredible run to start the season. Cleveland has lost five straight games, failing to cover in every one of those contests. It’s not all doom and gloom, as the Cavs have played pretty stiff competition in Golden State, Minnesota, Milwaukee, the Clippers and Sac all of which have winning records and four of them have championship aspirations this season. However, all the market sees is wins and losses but do know that the Cavs were in position to win four of those five games. Furthermore, they were all road games with the exception of a home game v Minnesota in what was Cleveland’s third game in four nights and tail end of back-to-backs. After this run of futility, it is now time to get back on the Cavs bandwagon, as their stock is much lower today than it was 10 days ago. Swallow the points.
