Houston +8½ over Utah

9:00 PM EST. Bless the schedule makers for presenting us with this opportunity to come right back on the Rockets taking back inflated points against a Jazz side they just beat. There is a perception in the market that the Jazz will be out for “revenge” here, as if losing a game on a random Sunday in October is going to be what drives one’s motivation levels.

Let’s not forget that the expectation for the Jazz and the Rockets was very similar. Dregs. One could argue that it was Houston that had a more positive future. At least they are growing with young talent. The Jazz just had a fire sale, sending Rudy Gobert and Dovovan Mitchell packing. Now, Utah is in the mix to bring in Russell “Me First and the Gimme Gimmes” Westbrook from the Lakers on a “favorable deal.” That’s a big red flag.

The Jazz had a hot 3-0 start. Now they think they are somebody? Meanwhile, the Rockets did the opposite by going winless in their first three games. The Rockets 114-108 win over the Jazz got them off the schneid and it was no fluke. Houston is strong defensively and they're every bit Utah's equal and perhap more so.

The Rockets were a 2½-point pooch on Monday night (game opened 1½) and now they are taking back +8½ (at the time of this writing) tonight? Unless home court is worth six points and we promiose you that it is not, we this is a ridiculous number to post on this game, expecially considering the number was nad last game. Houston can’t win again? Scooping up these points with the Rockets is a must, as not only are they young, talented and hungry, but they might actually be the supeior team here that will not letdown for a second. Very tempted to play Rockets outright but we'll take the points and likely throw in a parlay or two using Houston on the money line.

Our Pick

Houston +8½ (Risking 2.10 units - To Win: 2.00)
