Tracy Cortez over Rose Namajunas

Cortez has demonstrated a well-rounded skill set, combining solid striking, effective grappling, and relentless cardio. Her ability to control the pace and direction of a fight has been a hallmark of her career thus far. With a background in wrestling, Cortez has shown she can dictate the terms of engagement, often neutralizing her opponents' strengths.

Cortez's wrestling pedigree gives her a significant edge in this matchup. Rose Namajunas has historically struggled against opponents who can take her down and control her on the mat. Cortez's relentless pursuit of takedowns and her ability to maintain top control can frustrate Namajunas, limiting her striking opportunities and wearing her down over the course of the fight. Furthermore, Cortez is on a six-fight winning streak and has been steadily improving with each outing.

Namajunas is a former champion with a formidable resume, known for her striking precision, footwork, and submission game. However, Namajunas has been inconsistent at times, and her recent performances have raised questions about her current form. She has lost two of her last three fights, and her decision win over Amanda Ribas left much to be desired. While Namajunas has the ability to finish fights in spectacular fashion, she has not finished a fight since 2021, which in MMA might as well be a lifetime. Moreover, Rose can also struggle against fighters who can pressure her disrupt her rhythm, and cause her great frustration which she has a hard time hiding in the cage. We don’t want to say “Thug Rose” is a headcase, but she’s a headcase and Cortez has a style that could be very, f**king frustrating for her to deal with.

To close, Rose has a ton of wear on her tires, and the only reason she is favored here is because of her marquee name value. However, her time is not now; it’s time for Tracy Cortez, who presents us with significant value as an underdog.
