Forget Tyler Anderson (LHP - LAA) because he’s not the target of this play; we are here to fade Justin Verlander (RHP - HOU) at least one more time before the end of the season, as there is little chance he is going to make the Astros' postseason roster because he has been so rotten. That said, the Astros have scored just eight runs over their last four games, including getting shut out in San Diego on Wednesday night. Last night, the ‘Stros took the first game of this series but could only muster three runs on six hits and were aided by three Angel errors.

Verlander has made three starts (12.2 IP) in September and brings a 10.66 ERA (7.27 xERA) into this fourth turn of the month, along with a brutal 5 Ks to 7 BBs in that span. Since May 24th, Verlander has exactly one win, and he’s allowed four or more runs in six of his last seven starts going back to June 3. The Angels might get waffled here, but we’re willing to take that chance because the price is too sweet to pass up with Verlander on the mound. Overlay.
