In his last start, last Friday, Herz pitched five innings of one-run ball, striking out five Marlins and picking up the win. Over his last five starts (25.1 IP), Herz has a 2.49 ERA (2.74 xERA) with 30 Ks, and he has 98 Ks in 80.1 IP this season. Tonight, he faces a Mets side that is striking out 21.8% of the time against LHP over the last month while hitting just .232.

Jose Quintana (LHP - NYM) earned a rare win last Friday over the Phillies, allowing three hits over seven scoreless innings, but he struck out just four. Quintana has posted a perfect 0.00 ERA over his last two starts (13.2 IP), but he’s had some luck with a 100% strand rate in those outings while also posting an xERA of 3.37. Good, but not perfect. Quintana is a "sell high" candidate tonight because he’s capable of blowing up at any time. On the year, Quintana has an xERA of 4.76 with 122 Ks to 59 BBs in 159 IP, while posting the lowest strikeout rate of his career and a weak 8.4% swing-and-miss rate.
