Casey Mize (RHP - DET) has the pedigree of a #1 overall pick, but his stock is low because he has yet to reach his full potential in the big leagues. 2024 has been a mixed bag for Mize, but he was suffering from a hamstring issue that caused him to miss two months. Since his return three starts ago, Mize has 13 Ks in 16 IPs while posting a solid WHIP of 1.19 and a decent xERA of 3.72. Mize is a “buy low” candidate that is on our radar the rest of the way.

We are not going to rain on Cole Ragans' (LHP - KC) breakout season, but we will point out that he is just 11-9. While pitcher wins are team wins, those middling results reflect just how often the Royals put him in a position to pick up the victory. Of course, the Royals can win today, but that is not the question. What matters is that they are spotting an inflated price against a Tigers team that is still in the thick of the Wild Card race, sitting just 2½ games back of the Royals with less than two weeks to play.
