9:38 PM EST. Reid Detmers (LHP - LAA) has been on a tear since returning from a stint in the minors where he was working on his mechanics. In September (2 starts, 12 IP), Detmers has punched out 18 across starts against the Dodgers and Twins. Last Monday against Minnesota, Detmers gave up two runs over 6 IP, striking out eight. Tonight, he takes a big step down in competition as the White Sox visit Orange County. The White Sox are averaging just 3.2 runs per game this month and have an MLB-worst .603 OPS versus LHP.

The White Sox will send out Jonathan Cannon (RHP - CWS) after he took the loss last Tuesday against Cleveland, where he allowed three runs on seven hits over 5.1 IP. That was the fifth loss for Cannon in his last six starts, and he’s failed to reach five Ks in any of those six starts. During that time, he has struggled greatly with a 6.16 ERA (5.26 xERA), 1.70 WHIP, and 23/14 K/BB across 30.2 IP.
