The 8 Ks, while nice, were the highest total he’s racked up since his first start of the season, and it comes after a rough stretch in which Kelly allowed 14 ER, including 6 HR over a 16.1 inning span covering three starts.

Cody Bradford (LHP - TEX) allowed one run on two hits and two walks over 6 IP while striking out four in a win last Thursday over the Angels. Bradford isn’t a big strikeout pitcher, but he’s been solid this year at getting outs and putting his team in a position to win, as his 5-2 record suggests. Bradford now has five quality starts in a row, and over that stretch, he has a sparkling 2.81 ERA with 25 K to just 6 BB.
