4:10 PM EST. Drew Rasmussen (RHP - TB) will open this game for the Rays, which will be the third time he’s done so this season. While his time may be limited, Rasmussen’s stuff is stellar, as he throws 97 MPH with ease and is capable of racking up the Ks, as he has done in his limited action this season, posting a 12.6 K/9 over 10 IP. It’s not clear who will pick up the bulk relief role, but we’ll note that lefty Tyler Alexander (LHP - TB) has filled that role from time to time this season, although he did get a traditional start last time out.

The Mariners will answer with Luis Castillo (RHP - SEA), who allowed five runs on six hits over 6 IP vs. the Giants last Friday. Those five runs stand out, as the Giants might be the only team that struggles to score with regularity as much as the Mariners do. That lack of run production from Seattle is why they are always a risky wager, even with the depth of quality pitching in the M’s rotation. As for Castillo, he was in line for the loss in that game, but Seattle was able to tie the game in the 8th and got him off the hook. Castillo has now allowed multiple homers in back-to-back starts, and he’s spotting an inflated price today. The Rays are a play.
