6:40 PM EST. Osvaldo Bido (RHP - OAK) is coming off a win last Thursday vs. the Rays, where he allowed one run on two hits over 5 IP, striking out six. It was the third start in a row that Bido has been very good, as he was coming off back-to-back shutouts that spanned 12 total innings. Since coming to Oakland, Bido has found his game, as he posted an ugly 5.86 ERA with the Pirates last season but has a 3.24 ERA backed by a gorgeous 2.81 xERA in 2024 here with the A’s.

The struggling Reds are going to go with a bullpen day with Fernando Cruz (RHP - CIN) serving as the opener, although it’s not clear who he’ll give way to after starting this game. In his 52.2 IP this season, Cruz has a WHIP of 1.41 with a 5.30 ERA, and while he has 79 Ks in those innings, he also sports an inflated walk rate of 4.96 BB/9. This is his first “open” of the season, and only seven of Cruz's 61 appearances have lasted more than an inning.
