Toronto -1½ over Boston

7:10 PM EST. Cooper Criswell (RHP - BOS) has been up and down all year, and that makes him a weak favorite. Criswell pitched 4.2 IP v the Astros last Wednesday, where he allowed one run on four hits, but he was pulled after just 80 pitches. Prior to that turn, Criswell gave up six runs in 3.1 innings against Baltimore. On the year, Criswell has just 61 Ks in 79.2 innings with a 1.34 WHIP and 22 BBs. Not only that, but the Red Sox have gone cold after a hot start following the All-Star break, going 3-7 over their last 10 games with a weak .228 batting average, and they’ve been outscored by 17 runs in that time.

On the Toronto side, Yariel Rodriguez (RHP - TOR) is just 1-5, but he has posted 63 Ks in 60.1 innings across 15 starts. Moreover, the Blue Jays have been playing some really good ball, going 8-2 over their last 10 and posting a +19 run differential in that span. Vladdy Guerrero Jr. has led the way, and he’s been on a tear of late, bringing up his season numbers. Among qualified hitters in the bigs, Guerrero is third in AVE, fourth in OBP, and he ranks ninth in slugging. One could play the Blue Jays on the money line here, but we’d rather juice up that wager and play them on the reverse run line (-1½).
