It was another tremendous performance by Sears, who posted his fourth straight quality start and the second turn in his last four where he racked up 9 Ks. Since the start of July, he owns a 2.65 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and a 48/8 K/BB in 51 innings.

Meanwhile, Aaron Civale (RHP - MIL) allowed four hits and a walk over six scoreless innings vs. the Guardians last Friday, but forgive us if we’re not buying into that modest success. Since making his first start for the Brewers on July 5, Civale sports an xERA of 4.96. However, it’s not like things were going great before he left Tampa, as he has a season-long xERA of 4.77 to go with 117 Ks to 40 BBs in 24 starts (124.1). We’ve been fading Civale for weeks, and we are not going to let up here as road chalk.
