This play is not about the Mariners or Bryce Miller (RHP - SEA), but we’ll note that he is coming off a strong start in which he gave up just two hits over seven scoreless innings last Thursday, striking out nine Tigers. Miller has now pitched 13 scoreless innings over his last two starts, where he has struck out 15 and walked just one. Miller's numbers on the season are great (1.00 WHIP and 128/31 K/BB in 139.2 IP), but his win/loss record is middling (9-7) because the Mariners often struggle to score runs. However, tonight, the M’s are getting served up what’s left of Walker Buehler (RHP - LAD), who should give them plenty of opportunities to cross the plate.

Buehler has just 3.1 innings under his belt after returning to the Dodgers' rotation last Wednesday, where he walked four Brewers, a season-high. Buehler had been on the injured list since June 19 with right hip inflammation, and when looking back at his three rehab starts (12.2) at Triple-A OKC, he’s now allowed 12 free passes in 16 IP. If what ailed Buehler is healed, he hasn’t shown it, and it’s not like he was pitching well before going on the IL either, as his xERA is a bloated 6.28 and his WHIP a fat 1.56 in 40.1 IP. Even with the Dodgers' bats behind him, Buehler is a weak favorite, and we’re going to attack.
