N.Y. Mets -1½ over Baltimore

7:10 PM EST. David Peterson (LHP - NYM) is coming off a win over the Athletics last Wednesday in which he gave up just an unearned run on three hits over 6.1 IP. It was the sixth time Peterson has gone at least six innings this season. He sports a strong 7-1 record across his 13 starts this season and a 1-1 mark with a 3.72 ERA in three career appearances (two starts) against the Orioles.

Our fade on Trevor Rogers (LHP - BAL) in Baltimore continues tonight after he took the loss against the Nationals on Tuesday, where he allowed five runs on seven hits with two walks over 5 IP. There has been much to pick apart about Rogers’ time in B-More, which includes them messing with his head by having him limit his fastball usage. That fastball is now down almost 2 MPH from his season average, and while not totally related, Rogers only struck out two and posted a middling 14% whiff rate versus the Nats. Rogers’ 14.1 IP across three starts in Baltimore have been brutal, and he’s the poster boy for trade deadline buyer’s remorse, posting a 7.53 ERA with a 5.45 xERA and a horrible 7/7 K/BB ratio in Charm City. Oh, by the way, the Mets rank fifth in the majors in OPS (.810) and wRC+ (130) v LHP this month.
