Tyler Mahle (RHP - TEX) has made two starts in his return from Tommy John surgery, but don't get too excited about his 2.79 ERA, which is the result of some good luck—he's yet to give up a homer despite a 46% FB%, and he's been helped by a 28% H% and 75% S%, giving him a much less exciting 4.90 xERA.

This has been a season of maddening inconsistency and frustrating bad luck (33% H%, 63% S%) from Pablo López (RHP - MIN), but throughout it all, his xERA has held steady around 3.50 (currently at 3.48). It looks like his luck might be turning of late (3.19 ERA, 1.03 WHIP over his last 5 starts). The scuffling Rangers (.236 BA, .689 OPS in August) look to be a nice draw to keep it going.
