Minnesota -1½ over Kansas City

7:40 PM EST. Brady Singer (RHP - KC) was saddled with the loss last Monday after he gave up four runs on 10 hits over 5.2 IP. Singer did not retire the side in any of those five innings. This season, Singer has found most of his success against righties, but lefties have given him fits, batting .296 with a .859 OPS. This will be his lucky 13th career start against the Twins, who he is just 3-6 against, posting a 5.18 ERA while walking 25 over 57.1 IP. Further, Singer's struggles at Target Field are well noted, as he’s 1-4 with a 9.15 ERA and a 1.74 WHIP. It just so happens the Twinkies score in bunches at home, posting five runs per game and a .796 OPS.

On the bump for Minnesota tonight will be Pablo Lopez (RHP - MIN), who is coming off a July where he posted a 3.24 xERA with 32 strikeouts in 30 innings. That number is more in line with his season-long xERA (3.50) than it is with his surface number (4.74), which suggests he’s been a bit unlucky along the way this season, as reflected in his Batting Average of Balls in Play (BABIP) of .296. In five career starts against Kansas City, Lopez is 4-1 with a 2.41 ERA, and he’s already picked up a win against them this year.
