Last Sunday, Arrighetti threw 67 of his 100 pitches for strikes v the Rays and generated a career-high 12 Ks and 20 whiffs in that game. On the surface, his ERA is 5.33, but his xERA is 4.06, and he has 116 Ks in 98 IP in his rookie season.

The Red Sox are going to go with a bullpen game today after Cooper Criswell was scratched from this start with COVID, and Nick Pivetta’s spot was skipped, which brings reliever Josh Winckowski (RHP - BOS) into the fold, where he’ll be taking the mound on just two days' rest. This will be his first start since July 6, but it remains to be seen how long he’ll pitch, as he’s not logged more than 2.2 IP in nine appearances since moving to the bullpen. In those 10.2 innings since getting demoted, Winckowski has a bloated xERA of 6.05, and he, as well as the recently called-up Brad Keller, who is likely to work in tandem with him, are worthy of being favored against the Astros.
