Baltimore will send Dean Kremer (RHP - BAL) out for his 16th start of the season after he gave up four runs on six hits and two walks over 5 IP vs. Cleveland on Friday, where he struck out just two. It’s been a rough ride for Kremer, who is now 0-4 with an ERA of 5.40, backed by a bloated xERA of 5.52. He completed six innings only once during that stretch while posting a brutal 4.99 BB/9 in that stretch, which suggests his control is a major issue at the moment. Kremer hasn't earned a win since July 3, when he returned from a stint on the injured list, and he brings a 75/31 K/BB ratio through 80 IP. He's also been touched up for a 1.56 WHIP over his last 34 road frames, and he draws a Blue Jays side that has clubbed a .786 OPS since July 26.

Kevin Gausman (RHP - TOR) took the loss in his last start last Friday, but two-run shots by Aaron Judge and Anthony Volpe made up for most of the scoring in that turn, where Gausman also saw his three-game winning streak stopped dead in its tracks. Versus the Yanks, Gausman pitched 4.2 innings, throwing 93 pitches, but a step back was perhaps not unexpected after he pitched a complete game vs. Texas back on July 27. We acknowledge that Gausman has been hit or miss all season, but he still has 119 Ks in 119 IP, and there is no debating that he's the superior pitcher in this matchup.
