Washington over San Francisco
6:45 PM EST. MacKenzie Gore (RHP - WAS) was enjoying a breakout season, but he’s fallen on hard times of late, and we’re not going to try and spin it any other way. That said, he still brings a 10.3 K/9 strikeout rate into this game with a swing-and-miss rate of 12.5%. However, Gore is not the reason we are here, as we are here to fade the Giants’ Hayden Birdsong (RHP - SF), who cannot be road chalk in D.C. at this point in his career.
The Giants made room for Birdsong by trading Alex Cobb, as the former is 3-0 through six big starts. Birdsong was down at Single-A San Jose waiting to get back to the big club, as he last started on July 27. Birdsong has a surface ERA of 2.97, but that is supported by an xERA of 4.06 while also sporting a high strand rate of 83.8%. Perhaps Birdsong is legit, but he is overpriced here, and the team behind him is weak v LHP, as the Giants have the fourth most Ks in the majors against lefties. That makes the Nationals a bet and we hope to see you at the pay window.

Pinnacle takes some of the lowest fees on all users’ bets, meaning it’s able to offer some of the best value odds on the market. Compared to other major, well-known sportsbooks, Pinnacle offers superior average odds pricing. Pinnacle’s low betting margins and high betting limits is the best in the biz and will save you thousands of dollars over your betting life.
For instance, a baseball game at most sportsbooks has 20 to 25 cent margins
Arizona -150
Detroit +125
That’s a 25 cent margin but at Pinnacle, it’ll be an 9 cent margin (see example)
Arizona -145
Detroit +134
If you bet on sports daily, Pinnacle is a must have because of their low margins.
