1:40 PM EST. Bailey Ober (RHP - MIN) has pitched well this season, but there is a premium to pay for that, and that premium is on display on the road today in Detroit. We’ll note that Ober has been better at home than on the road, where he is 4-4 with a 4.67 ERA (compared to 3.18 at home). Ober has been on a bit of a hot run, but that only has his stock soaring, which is why he is favored in this range in this spot. However, it is worth noting that before he got hot, Ober was getting hit around with ease, giving up 20 ER in 23.2 innings. In a “buy low, sell high” business, we are selling on Ober and the Twins. On the season, Ober has an ERA of 4.04, and his xERA is 3.94, but despite those pedestrian numbers, he’s priced like an ace. He is not.

On the Tigers' side, they’ll go with Alex Faedo (RHP - DET) to start this game, but it’s not known if he’ll pitch more than an inning or two, and to be frank, we don’t care how long he goes. That said, Faedo tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win last Saturday in Toronto, where he allowed just one hit and struck out three. That was Faedo's fifth win of the season out of the bullpen, which ties him with Shelby Miller for the team lead among RP. Faedo has been really good this year out of the bullpen, striking out 41 over 45.2 IP. His strikeout stuff is legit as well, with an elite swing-and-miss rate of 15% and a called and swinging strike rate of 29.2%. The Tigers are still underpriced and under the radar, and that makes them a potentially profitable value play today.
