When they are a pooch, we are going to be looking hard at Detroit, which the Tigers are today without a starting pitcher yet named. The oddsmakers don’t care the Tigers haven’t tabbed an SP, and neither do we, as this is a fade on Cleveland’s Xzavion Curry.

Molding a useful starting pitcher out of raw material has been Cleveland's forte, but this is a project. Xzavion Curry's (RHP - CLE) surface numbers are foundation-level, but turn it over, and only hard work confronts you from underneath. He doesn't miss many bats, throw particularly hard, limit flyballs, nor pound the strike zone. Curry has a weak 25% groundball rate, a weak 9.4% swing and miss rate, and he'll now face one of the league's hottest teams that is truly legit. The clay is still dry and stiff on this overvalued starter who can barely go four innings on his best day.
