7:10 PM EST. Dylan Cease (RHP - SD) might just be 8-8, but he is one of the best in the game at the moment, and he is mowing hitters down at will. In his last start before heading to the All-Star break, Cease went six scoreless versus the Braves, where he punched out 11. If that was not impressive enough, he generated an eye-popping 27 swings and misses on 106 pitches, with a dozen of those coming on his fastball and 14 more on the backside with his slider. That was great enough to post an elite called and swinging strike rate (CSW) of 37%. Cease has a gorgeous 1.08 WHIP and a 149/36 K/BB ratio through 115 innings.

The Guardians were a monster in the first half, going 59-37, and they will send Gavin Williams (RHP - CLE) to the bump for his fourth start of the season. Williams is a former first-round pick, but he has not shown much in his limited action in the majors this season, posting an xERA of 4.99 despite a surface number of 3.77. Last year, Williams had 81 Ks in 82 IP, but so far, he only has 9 Ks (with a puny swing-and-miss rate of 8.2%) in his 14.1 IP with 6 BBs. Perhaps Williams finds his strikeout potential, but regardless, he cannot be favored over a true ace.
