1:40 PM EST. Nick Lodolo (LHP - CIN) returned from the IL last Tuesday versus the Rockies, but his return did not go as he would have liked, as he lasted just 3.2 innings, which bookended a 40-minute rain delay. Lodolo started that game off with a solid two innings of ball before having to return after the storm rolled in, and then he was not the same after the unscheduled break. We’re not going to put much stock in such a disjointed turn, and we are going to trust the quality that Lodolo displayed before he was hurt was legit, as he posted a 2.96 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 73/19 K/BB ratio across 70 innings before facing the Rockies.

Trevor Rogers (LHP - MIA) is a terrible starting pitcher, and we are going to attack him today, as he brings a bloated 4.97 xERA into this 19th start of the season, where he is 1-9. Rare is the night the Marlins win anyway, but Rogers has been awful with an inflated 1.59 WHIP, a 75/41 K/BB ratio over 89.2 IP. Rogers’ swing-and-miss rate is in the single digits (9.4%) for the first time in his career, and his first-pitch strike rate is a dismal 55.5%, also a career low. The total today in Cincy is 9, and we trust it is the Reds that are going to plate those runs, so we’ll play them to win on the run line (-1½).
