The Giants potted seven runs last night in a 7-1 win, and they will send Hayden Birdsong (RHP - SF) out for his fourth start of the season after he did not factor in the decision in last Sunday's loss to Cleveland. Birdsong went 4.2 IP while posting five punchouts, which included 13 swinging strikes, five with his slider. Birdsong solidly finished the day by inducing 13 whiffs on 44 swings for a 30 percent whiff rate and a 27 percent called and swinging strike (CSW) rate. In his limited time in the bigs this season, Birdsong has 15 Ks in 14.1 IP.

The Twins will try to rebound with Simeon Woods Richardson (RHP - MIN), who brings a 3.48 surface ERA backed by an xERA nearly a run higher at 4.43 and 64 Ks to 23 BBs in 77.2 IP. In his last turn, Woods Richardson pitched a no-decision versus the Astros in a game he went 6 IP, but he induced just 10 whiffs on 48 swings for a whiff rate of just 21% while posting a 24% CSW. Woods Richardson has never been dominant, and he is not worthy of being road chalk.
