Chicago over Miami

7:10 PM EST. While he is not the reason we are here, Drew Thorpe (RHP - CWS) will start for the White Sox tonight after his start yesterday was pushed back, which should serve him well, as the Marlins are a much better draw than the Guardians. On the year, Thorpe has a 4.43 ERA (with an xERA of 4.23) and a 1.23 WHIP in four starts.

It may be a bullpen day for Miami as Bryan Hoeing (RHP - MIA) was activated from the 15-day injury list to make his first appearance since May 1. That said, Hoeing has been used as a starter in the past, but he has only been used in relief in 2024. Hoeing threw 49 pitches in a 2.2-inning rehab “start,” but it’s not certain if the Marlins are going to stretch him out or just send him packing back to the bullpen after this game. Due to his lack of swing-and-miss stuff, Hoeing is reliant on his ground ball to be successful, but his homer rate has spoiled that plan. If Hoeing can stick in the majors, his role will likely be as a low-leverage reliever, making him a pretty decent fade when he's favored like he is today.

Pinnacle takes some of the lowest fees on all users’ bets, meaning it’s able to offer some of the best value odds on the market. Compared to other major, well-known sportsbooks, Pinnacle offers superior average odds pricing. Pinnacle’s low betting margins and high betting limits is the best in the biz and will save you thousands of dollars over your betting life.

For instance, a baseball game at most sportsbooks has 20 to 25 cent margins

Arizona     -150

Detroit      +125

That’s a 25 cent margin but at Pinnacle, it’ll be an 9 cent margin (see example)

Arizona       -145

Detroit    +134

If you bet on sports daily, Pinnacle is a must have because of their low margins.
