Detroit over Minnesota

8:10 PM EST. David Festa (RHP - MIN) is only in the Twins' rotation because of the injury to Chris Paddack, and his first start, while a win, was not made up of sunshine and rainbows. The only reason that Festa picked up the W was due to the tremendous run support he received, as Minnesota plated a baker’s dozen in support of him. As for Festa, he gave up 5 ERs on seven hits and a walk over 5 IP where he struck out just two. Not only were the Ks not there, but Festa’s swing and miss rate was a puny 7.7%.

The Tigers will send out Keider Montero (RHP - DET) for his second big league start in place of the injured Jack Flaherty. In his limited 8.2 IP, Montero has 11 Ks to 4 BBs and he sports an elite 14.4% swing and miss rate. Montero has good stuff, and he gets a great draw here with a relatively weak Twins lineup. With two unproven arms on the mound, the value in taking back an inflated price with arguably the better SP is a bet we are going to make more often than not.
