This play has little to do with Carlos Carrasco (RHP - CLE) and everything to do with backing the Guardians as an underdog in Toronto, but we’ll note that the veteran has had some bad luck this season with a Batting Average on Balls in Play of .307 and a low strand rate of 67.3%. Don’t get us wrong; we are not trying to put lipstick on a pig, and he is a pig, but that matters not here as we’d back the Guardians if your grandma were pitching for them today.

The Blue Jays are going with a bullpen game today, and they will send Trevor Richards (RHP - TOR) to open the game. Richards has pitched in relief all season, but he did open a game one other time back on June 4th, versus Baltimore, which the Blue Jays lost 10-1. In his 32.2 IP this season, Richards has a surface ERA of 3.31, but his xERA is 4.39, and he has 33 Ks to 15 BBs. Those free passes have his walk rate up to a bloated 4.13 BB/9. Wrong side favored.
