That turn marked the fourth straight time that Soriano has gone at least six innings, and he’s only given up a total of 10 earned runs across those 25.2 innings pitched. Soriano is very much “what you see is what you get,” with his surface ERA of 3.64 being backed by an xERA of 3.86. Most impressive is his uber elite groundball rate of 59.6%.

Meanwhile, Slade Cecconi (RHP - ARI) was back in the rotation last Sunday, filling in for the injured Zac Gallen (hamstring), where he struck out four Mets over 4.2 innings of one-run ball. The start was good enough to earn Cecconi one more turn through the rotation while the Diamondbacks try to get healthy with Merrill Kelly (shoulder) and Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder) joining Gallen on the IL. Cecconi has spent time in both the minors and the big leagues, as well as in the rotation and the bullpen. In 41.1 MLB innings, he has just 29 strikeouts, with an xERA of 5.75. Simply put, dude is a weak favorite, and we’re fading him tonight.
