4:10 PM EST. Austin Gomber (LHP - COL) will pitch for the Rockies today in his 12th start of the season. Gomber is 4-4, and while his surface numbers are not pretty, he isn't the target of this play. That said, there are some underlying numbers that suggest Gomber has been a tad unlucky, such as his Batting Average on Balls in Play of .294 and a below-average strand rate of 62.5%.

Daniel Lynch (LHP - KC) is making his second start of the season, and he cannot be favored in this range in his current form. Lynch is coming off a left shoulder strain that kept him sidelined for the first two months of the season. With just one start under his belt, we're not going to focus too much on that outing, but we'll note that Lynch struggled with injuries last season as well, with two IL stints due to a blister issue. Across his last 11 starts of 2022, Lynch struggled, going 0-6 with an ERA of 5.73. Lynch is an interesting prospect, and if he were an underdog, we might even give him a look. However, he and the Royals are spotting an inflated price here and must be faded.
