Pinnacle has the best number here with the Tigers +133

Detroit +133 over Baltimore

7:05 PM EST. The Orioles continue to feel the heat as they fold like a cheap tent under the pressure of a potential playoff position. The O’s dropped a 3-2 decision to these Tigers and they remain fine fade fodder until the day their postseason dreams are dead.

Jordan Lyles (RHP - BAL) might look sporty here with a 3.77 ERA at home, but do not be fooled. His WHIP is an inflated 1.49, which suggests he has no business being favored in this range. Last Friday night, Lyles was hung with the loss after surrendering four runs on five hits over five innings against Toronto. On the whole, Lyles’ xERA is higher than his bloated surface number of 4.70. He has a below average ground ball rate of 39.6%, and a below average strikeout rate of just 7.21 K/9. The truth is, Lyles, is the definition of “below average.”

Matt Manning (RHP - DET) is a prime example of why one cannot write off a top-10 draft pick before the ripe age of 25. Manning struggled in his first rounds in the majors, but has seen his game rise of late. After pitching a disaster against the Mariners in which Manning gave up seven earned runs, he’s posted an impressive ERA of 2.08 and WHIP of just 0.87. That’s dominant stuff. Across those three starts, Manning also has 12 strikeouts to just four walks in 17.1 innings. Last time out against the White Sox, Manning gave up only three hits over seven scoreless innings while racking up five strikeouts. The Tigers relished the role of spoiler last night. There is no reason not to stick with them again tonight.
