In case the five-game series finale against the Braves wasn’t going to have enough juice already, deGrom’s home debut should add an extra level of buzz in his second start of the season. Since last pitching at Citi Field on July 7, 2021, deGrom spent the rest of the year on the injured list with an elbow sprain before landing on it again to start this year with a stress reaction on his right scapula. In his season debut on Tuesday, deGrom tossed five strong innings on 59 pitches against the Nationals. He could be in line to build up to six innings and around 75 pitches here but that could also mean five innings or less. Door open.

Enter Spencer Strider (RHP - ATL) at +120. That’s really all we need to know but in case you need it, Strider is a legit rotation anchor and has been all year. He had a 2.70 ERA and 0.90 WHIP in 26 innings in July. That has the backing of these fantastic skills: 39% K%, 9% BB%, 31% K-BB%, 2.29 xERA. Few pitchers own a better combination of stuff (16.9% swing and miss rate) and ability to generate soft contact (84.3 mph EV) than Spencer Strider and it’s not like he’s pitching for some garbage team.
