After a few seasons of being yo-yo’d from the minor to the bigs, it appears as if Kyle Wright (RHP - ATL) has finally found his game and is going to stick around the majors this time around. Perhaps most impressive this season is Wright’s elite ground ball rate of 53%, which is something he had struggled to bring with him from Triple-A. If it’s not his ground ball rate, then it’s his swing & miss rate, which Wright has also struggled to bring with him to the show, but that is not the case in 2022, where he’s fooling hitters left and right with an elite 12.2% mark. Wright has always had this in him, as he has all the pedigree from being a top-five draft pick. If you had written Wright off as a “bust,” it’s time to reevaluate. Wright got the win last time out against the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs on five hits with five strikeouts with just two free passes in 6.2 innings.

We’ll quote FanGraphs writer Alex Sonty here because his take on Carlos Carrasco (RHP - NYM) is perfect, “Carlos Carrasco isn’t very good”. Carrasco has faded as the season has gone on and was one of the big reasons for the Mets' slump earlier this season. Opposing hitters are hammering all four of his main pitches (four-seam, sinker, slider, and changeup), as he was slugged for .439 or better on those offerings in June and July. If that trend continues in August, it’s going to be a long month for Carrasco. Moreover, the Braves are not the kind of team one tries to get right against. Good luck, Carlos.
