Chicago -1½ +140 over Minnesota

2:10 PM EST. Dylan Cease (RHP - CH) could outperform his already strong matchup rating against the Twins. Coming into this one, Cease has been lights out in the last month in spite of some very bad luck (.340 BABIP). His walks are slightly elevated this season, but he upped his strikeout rate over the last 30 days by nearly 1.5 K/9 to make up for it. He has a sick 142 K’s in 98 innings. In addition to generating plenty of groundballs, Cease is missing tons of bats (18.5% swing and miss rate) while throwing strikes (34% ball%). And when batters did make contact against him, their batted balls were of poor quality.

Chris Archer (RHP - MIN) has just a single quality start to his credit in 15 starts this season. Despite a nice looking 3.08 ERA, his skills are abysmal (5.02 xERA, 6.9 K’s/9, 9.4% swing & miss rate. He took on the White Sox in one previous start this season and that resulted in him getting whacked. Chris Archer’s extreme luck (.224 BABIP, 80% strand rate) has combined to create an illusion that cannot last much longer.
