3:07 PM EST. Dylan Bundy (RHP - MIN) is flying under the radar, as he currently sports an xERA that is lower than his surface number, 3.27 to 4.76. Bundy has also seen a nice dip in his walk rate. After giving up 3.38 BB/9 last season, that number is down to just 1.82 in 2022. Of all the starters today with at least 30 innings pitched, Bundy ranks second in that department. We’ll leave it there with Bundy, as this play is less about him and more about targeting the Blue Jays starter, who cannot get out of his own way.

Jose Berrios’ (RHP - TOR) first full season in Toronto has been one he’d likely want to forget. In his last outing, Berrios gave up six runs on six hits with just one strikeout in 2.1 innings. Lucky for him, Berrios did not factor into the decision, as the Blue Jays stormed back late in the game for an 11-10 victory. There are so many holes in Berrios’ game right now. His xERA is a bloated 7.17, which is higher than his awful surface number of 5.62. His strikeout rate is down big time at over 3 K/9 over last season. Berrios’ swinging strike rate is on a three year slide and now sits at a wimpy 7.8%. That’s a far cry from its peak of 11.6% back in 2020. There is a big risk in backing Berrios priced in this range.
