Jessica Pegula 2-0 (+375 at SportsInteraction)

This week in Wimbledon, we'll have a rare selection of high-value wagers to make through the next 3-4 days. Since we anticipate a higher-volume of plays during this period, we're releasing "micro-articles," shorter write-ups with more options available. Let's get started!

8:00 AM EST. Ashlyn Krueger entered Wimbledon with some momentum, many wondering if the 20-year old could cause a stir in London. In grass season she had some nice moments, like getting to the third round to take on Leylah Fernandez at Eastbourne, who outmatched the American but eventually made it to the Finals. There are worse losses. But Kreuger's dreams were quickly shot down when she met fellow American and top-5 ranked Jessica Pegula in the first round. Pegula put on a clinic, whooping Krueger 6-2, 6-0 without breaking a sweat. A former quarterfinalist at Wimbledon, Pegula has never won a grand slam title, but this is the kind of form we've seen in previous majors when she’s at her most threatening. At her best, she's brilliant at finding the right angles and counters to mitigate her opponents strengths, exhibiting some of the best on court IQ in all of tennis, and her ice-cold demeanor and technically sound style is absurdly tough to stop when she's in rhythm. We’ll count on the surging American to get another win on Thursday, against an opponent that just simply isn't on her level.
