8:00 AM EST. Linda Noskova has been turning heads all season - not in that way, you creep. The 19-year old Czech is ascending before our eyes, now ranked 26th in the world, and her competitors know she should no longer be overlooked. Her most notable moment in 2024 was her Australian Open victory over Iga Swiatek, surging in the second and third and only letting the world's #1 squeak out 7 wins in the final two sets. She made it to the quarterfinals and then ran out of steam, probably affected by nerves since it was by far the furthest she's ever made it in a Grand Slam tournament. She's stacked up plenty of impressive wins all season, this year she's performing better on grass, and her high-octane serve is a true weapon. We see her as a very formidable opponent for former U.S. Open winner, Bianca Andreescu, who after a long hiatus following the 2023 French Open appears to be regaining the form of a champion again. At this year's French Open, she looked great before Jasmine Paolini, who's been mowing through everyone lately, ended her hopes. But a recent run at Hertogenbosch again revealed that former, fiery competitor, a glimpse of the exciting performer she was in 2019. She cruised over mid-tier foes and took out Naomi Osaka on the way, making it to the finals but falling short against veteran Luidmila Samsonova. Andreescu's experience and ability to handle any onslaught Noskova throws her way should pay major dividends in this second-round match. We'll go with the reforming Canadian in what should be a highly entertaining exchange, although we like the prodigy to take a set, too.
