Winnipeg +2½ +100 over B.C. Lions

7:00 PM EST. The Blue Bombers quietly enter Week 11 after a bye in Week 10, which should serve us well here, as all of the attention from the media and the market is on the hometown Lions. That white-hot spotlight shines because of the return of Canada’s favorite football son, Nathan Rourke, who returns this week to the league that made him a star after flirting with NFL opportunities south of the border for the last 18 months.

Rourke’s return comes at a time when the Lions need him, as former starting pivot Vernon Adams Jr. is injured and B.C., which has high expectations this season as the hosts of the Grey Cup, has now lost three straight games, all to Western Division opponents. That includes a narrow 25-24 nailbiter in Calgary back in Week 7, which was then followed by a lifeless performance after a bye in Winnipeg in Week 9, where the Leos were shut out by the Bombers 25-0. Last week’s 33-16 drubbing by the then-one-win Elks officially put the Lions on alert, and they did everything they could (pay up) to entice Rourke to abandon his NFL dreams and come home.

Perhaps Rourke is able to walk in off a whirlwind of NFL training camps that saw him bounce from the Patriots, where he was released on May 6, to the Giants, where he was cut on July 28, to the Falcons, where he put in an underwhelming performance last week, completing just three of 13 pass attempts for 37 yards in a 20-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins before being released last Sunday, but that is a lot to ask. We are not going to put much stock into that one limited preseason appearance, but we point it out as a part of a larger picture about just what a wild ride Rourke has been on this training camp season.

We can appreciate the excitement of a true CFL star and the greatest Canadian quarterback of his generation coming back to a league that is in desperate need of star power, but that excitement has caused the Lions to be overvalued this week. Rourke was cut a week ago, and days later, Rourke was in Vancouver signing a big-money deal to pull the nose up on the Lions' free fall. If he does that today, so be it, but the value here is on the visiting Blue Bombers.

Pinnacle takes some of the lowest fees on all users’ bets, meaning it’s able to offer some of the best value odds on the market. Compared to other major, well-known sportsbooks, Pinnacle offers superior average odds pricing. Pinnacle’s low betting margins and high betting limits is the best in the biz and will save you thousands of dollars over your betting life.

For instance, a baseball game at most sportsbooks has 20 to 25 cent margins

Arizona     -150

Detroit      +125

That’s a 25 cent margin but at Pinnacle, it’ll be an 9 cent margin (see example)

Arizona       -145

Detroit    +134

If you bet on sports daily, Pinnacle is a must have because of their low margins.
