7:00 PM EST. The Blue Bombers' stock is tanking, and it’s been a while since they have wallowed in the basement of the CFL. The Bombers are just 2-5, which is bad enough, but in the market, they are just 1-6 against the spread (ATS), which has put a target on their backs. We get it; there is no sugarcoating the Bombers' struggles. Winnipeg has the lowest points average (21.3), the second-lowest net offense (332.9 yards), and the second-lowest passing yards (243.3). If that weren’t all bad enough, the Blue Bombers were just beaten by their biggest rivals in Saskatchewan, 19-9, last Saturday, a defeat that is resonating in the market here in Week 8.

The Argonauts are getting all the attention from the market here, as this line has moved from the Boatmen being a slim -1-point favorite to the inflated number you see posted, but this is not a great situation for them. First, Toronto is coming off a loss of their own to rival Hamilton, 27-24. It’s worth noting that the Tiger-Cats were previously winless before getting off the schneid in Week 7, and that game created a bit of a QB controversy, as Nick Arbuckle replaced Cameron Dukes and made a game that the Argos were down 17-0 in much more competitive looking, even if his team would go gate to wire without ever having a lead. Word dropped late that Dukes would get the nod again today, but his leash could be short if he struggles.

There is so much negative attention on the Bombers (performance, injuries, etc.), that the Argos are skating on their struggles ATS and nobody is talking about the loaded infirmity the Double Blue are dealing with too, particularly on defense, with DL Jared Brinkman, DB Jonathan Edouard (elbow), LB Jamie Harry (hip), and LB Daniel Kwamou (knee) all missing practice this week. There are a ton of moving parts here, but that matters not, as all the value lies with the Blue Bombers taking back inflated points, which is precisely how we’re going to play it.
