Edmonton -3½ over Ottawa

7:00 PM EST. The Redblacks are 2-2, and they are coming off a 25-16 loss in Winnipeg, which might not look bad on paper, as the Bombers have pedigree despite their poor record this season. However, the reality is that Winnipeg is not a good football team, and that was not a good loss. Ottawa did lose QB Dru Brown in that one, but he, too, has not been great, as he is eighth in the CFL in passing yards (819) and has the second-worst completion percentage (59.3%). Brown passed concussion protocol this week, and he is expected to start, but is he really better than backup Dustin Crum? Regardless, Brown will be the second-best quarterback in this game by a wide margin.

The rest of the Redblacks' résumé reads like this: Week 1 Bye; Week 2, a 23-19 win over Winnipeg, which might look good on paper, but the Bombers are 1-4 and every bit deserving of that horrible record; Week 3, Ottawa was whooped by Montreal, 47-21; Week 4, the Redblacks won a narrow 24-22 home decision over the 0-5 Tiger-Cats.

The Elks are 0-4, yet here they are, favored against a Redblacks side that is 2-2. Why? Well, as mentioned above, Edmonton has the better quarterback here in McLeod Bethel-Thompson (MBT), who has thrown for 1,225 yards through four games with seven touchdowns. MBT has put the Elks in a position to win each of their four games this season, but the late bounces have not gone their way, as they’ve lost three games by a field goal. In the other, Edmonton had a 21-8 lead with 13:13 to play in Week 1 versus Saskatchewan.

While winless, the Elks are a quality outfit, and they are the most undervalued team in the CFL here in Week 5. The reality is, they should be favored by more than they are, and that is a market inefficiency we hope to exploit. We have no problem swallowing these deflated points, and we hope to see you at the cashier’s window.

Pinnacle takes some of the lowest fees on all users’ bets, meaning it’s able to offer some of the best value odds on the market. Compared to other major, well-known sportsbooks, Pinnacle offers superior average odds pricing. Pinnacle’s low betting margins and high betting limits is the best in the biz and will save you thousands of dollars over your betting life.

For instance, a baseball game at most sportsbooks has 20 to 25 cent margins

Arizona     -150

Detroit      +125

That’s a 25 cent margin but at Pinnacle, it’ll be an 9 cent margin (see example)

Arizona       -145

Detroit    +134

If you bet on sports daily, Pinnacle is a must have because of their low margins.
