7:35 PM EST. OT included. The Bruins are not a healthy bunch right now. Boston lost three players in Tuesday night’s 6-4 victory against the Hurricanes and were forced to play with four defensemen and 11 forwards. No injuries were specified, but it appeared Jake DeBrusk suffered some sort of upper-body injury when he crashed hard into the boards in the second period. It’s not clear what happened to Zdeno Chara or Torey Krug, but both were seen leaving the X-ray room at PNC Arena. Chara appeared to be walking fine but Krug was moving a little slower without a pronounced limp. Charlie McAvoy and Patrice Bergeron are still out. The aforementioned others are game-time decisions are perhaps they’ll be some updates after the morning skate but we’re not going to worry about who is in and who is out. The B’s are banged up mo matter how you break it down and they’re not even playing that well.

The Bruins were down 4=1 to the Hurricanes in the third but scored five unanswered against Carolina’s awful goaltending to steal a win they did not deserve. The game prior, Boston lost in Chicago, 3-1. They’ve allowed 18 goals against over their past five games (almost four a game), and are also allowing a high number of shots on net. Even more concerning is that Boston has taken four minors or more in seven of their past eight games and five minors or more in four of those. That’s a sign of a team that is spending too much time chasing the other team. The Bruins are going to the playoffs, they just came off a miracle win, they’re basking in the sunshine and they’re banged up just before the playoffs. That’s not a good time to be getting behind road chalk against a team as dangerous as the Panthers.

The Panthers lose to Ottawa and all of a sudden their stock bottoms out again? Prior to losing to the Sens, Florida had picked up points in nine straight with eight victories and one OT loss. They took a bit of a breather against Ottawa and got caught and it didn’t help that Roberto Luongo was shaky. Florida still outshot Ottawa 38-25 including 17-2 in the second period. One lousy loss and this fickle market has the Panthers going from a -220 favorite at home against Ottawa to an underdog at home to the Bruins. They were overvalued against Ottawa and they’re undervalued here and we’re now going to try and take advantage of this market inefficiency. The Panthers very likely get back to playing at an extremely high level and emerge victorious here.
