10:05 PM EST. OT included. First off, this is not a fade against the Golden Knights, as they have proven to be a legit team with much strength. We like the way their defense efficiently moves the puck out to create chances for their goal scorers. We also like the energy, conviction and heart of this team as much as any team in the league. However, before the season began, the Knights had no identity. It was very difficult for the opposition to prepare for a team this good that nobody had ever seen before. The Knights than took a hot start and turned into an epic run and season so far that will be made into an ESPN 30/30 film one day. With 69 game films available on them, teams’ are much better prepped these days to play the Knights and they are no longer running over the opposition. The Knights are just 4-4 over their last eight games with the victories coming against New Jersey, Detroit, Buffalo and Philadelphia, respectively. The Knights were badly outplayed in Philadelphia but won in OT. They were down 1-0 to Buffalo very late before rallying for another OT victory. When they beat New Jersey 3-2 on March 4 at The Rock, the Knights were outshot 35-27 and had a very slight Corsi For Edge during 5-on-5 play. That game could have gone the Devils way just as easily. The Knights have recent losses to the Kings (x2), Ottawa and Columbus.

The Devils opened their crucial road trip with a 3-2 road win in Nashville. That was another game that could have easily gone the other way but it shows that the Devils can win those 50/50 games too. Since February 7, a span of five weeks, the Devils rank 13th in xGF/60 while the Knights rank 26th over that same span. Aside from that aforementioned, confidence-building win in Nashville, the Devils have dominating performances over Winnipeg, Minnesota, Columbus and Pittsburgh recently. Hockey is such a luck-driven sport that prices like this on good teams like the Devils are very worthy of considering. Furthermore, the Knights will return home from an East-Coast trip to face one East team before they face just teams from the West in their final 12 games of the season. Not only are the Devils live at this price but they’re in a decent scheduling spot too.
