7:05 PM EST. OT included. The Knights snapped out of a mini funk with a 3-2 win in New Jersey and we take nothing away from that win. It was a closely battled contest throughout and in the end, the Knights got the better bounces after being outshot 35-27 and won by a goal. However, if we could make that same bet again, we would and we’ll make a similar wager here because the prices on this invader are still incorrect. Don’t get us wrong, as Vegas is a quality team that obviously can win here but they’re also a bit banged up with several players questionable and others listed as doubtful or out. Regardless of who’s in or out, there are several things to note here. Over the last five weeks, the Jackets rank 1st in xGF/60 while Vegas ranks 25th over that same span during 5v5 play.

On February 18th, the Jackets hosted the Penguins and although they lost, they were a -133 favorite. In the Jackets last two home games, they were -127 and -157 over Washington and Chicago respectively.  The last time the Jackets were a dog at home was back on January 18 when they played and beat Dallas. They were taking back +107 that day. When they hosted the Maple Leafs back in late December, they were a -133 that day, the same price they were over the Penguins just a couple of weeks ago. This line would be justified if the Jackets were playing poorly but they’re not. Sergei Bobrovsky has been shaky lately but the team itself has not. Columbus is coming off a nice win in San Jose and although it lost to L.A. and Anaheim in its previous two games, it had a lead in both. The Jackets are a tough out at Nationwide with a 19-11-2 record but most importantly is that the Golden Knights are still being asked to spot unjustified prices. Lastly, the Jackets will be without Sergei Bobrovsky here, which likely means Joonas Korpisalo will be in net and that’s another reason why the price on the Knights increased today. Frankly, we couldn’t be happier, as we’re big supporters of Korpisalo and have never liked Bob and still don’t. How he won a Vezina trophy is a bigger mystery to us than rapist Kobe Bryant winning an Oscar at the #MeToo Academy Awards this year. In any case, go Jackets.....
