OT included. When the Avalanche lost to Washington on Tuesday night, it was the Avs third game in four days and tail end of back-to-backs after defeating the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Monday. Colorado is 2-1 after three games. They have played Dallas, Pittsburgh and Washington. They have surrendered 11 goals in those three games but six of those goals came when they were a man short. A minor tweak there and the Avs goals against would be much better. During 5-on-5 play, Colorado was the better team on the ice against both Dallas and Pittsburgh. They were running on fumes against Washington but still only lost 3-0. The Avs figure to be fully energized once again tonight and this is a team you don’t want to spot big juice against when they are fully energized. They’re dangerous, they’re talented and they have some swag.

The Lightning are 3-0 and that’s what this market sees. They have played two fringe playoff teams in Detroit and New Jersey and are fortunate they weren’t 0-2 in those games after falling behind 2-0 in both. Tampa’s other victory occurred against Florida in OT in a game the Bolts tied up with six seconds remaining in regulation. The Lightning could easily be 0-3 instead of 3-0. After tonight’s game, the Bolts head out on a six-game trip. They play in Ottawa on Saturday on Hockey Night in Canada followed by games in Toronto and Montreal before finishing up three games in the New York region. Not only is it an unfavorable situational spot for Tampa but they have not played as well as their record indicates. They’ll now play a team they rarely see from the West before six straight games against six straight East rivals. Great price on a very live pooch here.
